Janeska - The ObjectiveArtist: Janeska
Title: The Objective
Genre: Electronica/Dance/Pop
Rating: **

Janeska is a Spanish, Filipino, and Scotch-Irish mix who decided one day to do something with her life that lead her to a career in singing and acting. I haven’t seen Janeska on TV or on the big screen but I was able to listen to her sing. You could tell just by listening to her music she was a pop artist. The remix to her tracks were an exact replica to any current electronica song, cause once you’ve heard one electronica song you’ve heard them all. But I enjoy that version better than the original not because I’m an electronica fan but because it completed that song. Make sure you listen to “What the heart wants” and “Moonlight” the Linus remix. While I was listening to her music the quality didn’t sound so great and it made it difficult to hear her voice. The beat really over shadowed her lyrics to the point were I couldn’t understand her. I’ve grown to enjoy electronica however her music sounded no different then what DJ Sammy is doing or any other pop artist. If you have a free minute go check her out but there’s no rush to do that.

Artist: Elemnop
Title: ELEMNOP Mixtape Volume I, Groundwork Radio, ELEMNOP CD Sampler
Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap
Rating: ****

Right from the very start I was feeling ELEMNOP. Don’t expect anything typical because of their West Coast connection. Whenever you blend fresh beats with original lyrics what you come out with is hip hop at its purest. I hate to compare these guys because they are defiantly on a level on their own but they have an uncanny resemblance to the Mountain Brothers. I’m not comparing the two styles but the path they took to get here was very similar. These guys did it on their own on their own terms. The group has three CD’s that you can really sink your teeth into. All of their tracks were great. These guys truly have a gift to speak easy and rhyme. Their ability to be lyrically masterful comes as a natural reaction to the five members. The group consists of Buutiki, CeeRock, ElementXP, Emassin, and Geez. The phonetic way to say ELEMNOP is LMNOP. There are a couple of different acronyms to LMNOP; you have "Lyricists Making Noise on Point" or "Lips Moving Naturally over Poetry." However you pronounce their name its all the same. If you love hip hop be sure to check out and support these guys. I know you will be pleasantly surprised.
