Following in the footsteps of successes like Fiona Apple and Norah Jones, Teri Untalan is the singer, songwriter, and violist to possibly make the next big jump to notariety. The CD starts off with an empty canvas and gradually adds color and texture to the landscape. The acappella "Faith" introduces Untalan's voice and then adding guitar and viola in later tracks, the music then fills the canvas with beauty and interest. There is definitely an emotional and intense quality in Untalan's voice and songs that takes the listener on the journey with her. Favorite Picks: "Accidents Will Happen" and "Eternally, Perpetually" Nelson Artist: John Flor SisanteTitle: The Music of Things Genre: Rock Rating: **** With the rock genre proving to be very popular, particularly within the Asian American community, another new artist, John Flor Sisante, breaks onto the scene and sets it afire. The energetic and ear-catching "Tag" starts off the album and the album peaks in energy at "How About You." After that, the music takes some interesting twists. For instance, the track "I Don't Believe in Miracles" adds some latin rhythms to accompany the rock guitars. Overall, listeners wanting a great summer rock CD to blast from their car during a casual long distance cruise will enjoy the music.
