Ask Lianne
May 10, 2004 Dear Lianne, I don't get nervous at shows anymore -- once you do one, they become almost routine. The thing that makes me a little anxious is if someone is taking forever to take a picture and I realy need to blink. There's nothing worse than half-blinking or half-smiling pictures. Also, since I'm kind of shy and reserved, sometimes I have to make myself look busy or occupied, or else someone will accuse me of looking bored or unhappy. I definitely don't want to convey that, especially because it isn't true! I also try to make myself look my absolute best for shows, because the coverage photos end up on countless websites. I try to talk to the fans who approach my booth, and hope that a lot of people will pick up my flyer and visit my website. Not only do I go to shows to promote myself as a model and photographer, but I also want people to send job offers and fan mail to the models on my site who I've photographed. It makes me feel great to know that my models are getting recognition.
