Ask Lianne
April 30, 2004 How should I deal with a co-worker who gets stressed out about every little thing and it makes me stressed. What should I tell the person or how can I bring up the topic without stressing him out? It depends on how close you are to the person. If you consider him a friend, just tell him straight up that he stresses too much. He might be a little offended at first, but he'll appreciate it later, and so will you. If he isn't close to you at all, there isn't really much you can do other than try to avoid him...unless you want to drug him or spike his drink...just kidding. But keep in mind, there are just some people (a few Asians come to mind, actually) who are always hyper and running around with way too much nervous energy. That's just the way they are. If that's the case, you can deal with that by just accepting your situation, and just take deep breaths and relax whenever he's around. Keep your cool and it may rub off on him. April 12, 2004 Dear Lianne, I often think about being a model but I just don't feel pretty enough. Can you give me some advice? I live in Santa Clara but I don't know who to talk to! From what I've seen, it seems like almost every woman secretly (or openly) wants to be that glamour model in the magazine that all the guys drool over. I'm all for making women feel beautiful, because it makes them feel good. The modeling industry is extremely competitive, and even if someone isn't "model material," they can still get photos of themselves looking their best, and then give it a shot and see what opportunities they can find. I live very close to you (San Jose), and I can help you with your first shoot. I can do your hair and makeup if you need help with it, and take photos of you, helping you pose attractively. I then retouch them with Photoshop to get rid of any blemishes. Visit my website: LianneLin.com, take a look at the models I've photographed, and send me an email if you are interested in a shoot or if you want to ask me any more detailed questions.
