This A-Profiler we bring you JAZMIN, a four-sister vocal group who were recently featured on the NBC online show Star Tomorrow and currently finalizing their debut demo. You are all sisters.  Can you introduce yourselves to us?  What is your ethnic background?
We're Nadia, Felicia, Celia and Daria and are of Chinese descent.

How did you all get involved in forming JAZMIN?  Has your family always been supportive of you all having a career in the music industry?
Our mother is a piano teacher so we all learned piano at an early age. Growing up, we would always sing around the piano and listened to music from our parents era. We were also preacher's kids so we constantly sang and performed at church. It was only natural that we pursued singing professionally. Our parents are very supportive, as they know how much we love music and how important it is to us.

You were featured on NBC's Star Tomorrow online show and managed to get to Round 4, what was that like and have you received a lot of attention since then?
The experience was definitely a lot of fun. It was exciting to be a part of a competition with so many other talented artists. Since then, we have come in contact with awesome people who helped make the journey a meaningful one. It definitely encouraged us by giving us a better feel of what our group is capable of. Receiving recognition and feedback from well-respected players in the music industry is something that we will remember for a long time. We gained more recognition as artists because of this and have received more opportunities to further our career.

As a female vocal group, are you finding that it's harder for vocal groups to make it with so much attention being focused on solo artists thanks to shows like American Idol being so popular?
We don't feel that these solo competition shows make it harder for us since a group is a different kind of entity. There is a different impact that we can make both visually and vocally. We believe that there is room for a girl group today.

How would you describe JAZMIN's music?  Can we expect an album from JAZMIN soon?
JAZMIN is combination of two words: JAZZ and JASMINE. Jazz plays a huge role in our music because our harmonies are derived from jazz-like chords and intervals. Our songs can be described as pop and R&B with a hip hop beat. Our tracks are currently in the mixing stage so our album should be done soon after. We are very excited and hope that you are too!

Outside of the music, what you all enjoy doing with your free time? Are you a close-knit family?  What interests do you all have?
Nadia – Besides singing, I love fashion. I like reading about the newest designers in "W" magazine or seeing the latest red carpet outfits in "In Style". I believe that being able to put together a great outfit takes a lot of creativity and style and am always amazed by the possibilities out there. Writing poetry and music is also something I like to do to relax. My favorite spot to do that is by the pool in the summertime. We are a VERY close family so my sisters will probably be right there beside me!

Felicia – Music moves me and I love to dance. I can never sit still. It has inspired me to articulate my passion into forms of visual art. I love graphic design, painting, drawing, photography, and videography. Since we are musicians as well as singers, our websites, flyers, cd covers…etc. uniquely portray a style we share through my designs. I play the drums, piano and violin. Rhythm is within my soul and is expressed when I write, sing, dance, walk, talk, laugh...basically when I do just about anything.

Celia – I got to have my NBA. I am a very competitive person so sports is my thing (even though I'm a horrible athlete!). When I don't have writer's block, I love to write and enjoy collaborating with my sisters. Like the rest of them, I play violin and piano as well. But on the flip side of classical music, give me a good bass beat and I'm ready to go! I can dance for days; I can sing forever; music is the air I breathe. I can't get enough of it and I don't think I ever will.

Daria - I play the piano and violin, but singing is my first passion and what I love to do the most.  I also love to write as well as write music.  Music is everything to me.  Give me anything with a good beat, and I'm already in love with it.

We are definitely a close-knit family since we like hanging out together on a regular basis even though we are not working. Every weekend of our lives from as long as we can remember is time to spend with family.

You've recently had a casting for hip-hop dancers for a music video. When can we expect to see this music video?
Right now, the video is in the works and we are looking to make sure we find the right overall team to create this video to its fullest potential. Being that this is our first one, it is crucial that we find the perfect fit for us. We definitely want to find someone who can bring something unique to the table and are still looking...

Each group always has a myriad personalities and with you starting a Summer tour soon, how do you deal with differences that inevitably come up with a group?
When things get tough, our Faith is the answer to our problems.  Each one of us has a personal relationship with God and He is what gets us through the tough times. We know that everything is in His hands.  Prayer is the key when it comes to solving differences and issues that may occur.  In the end, when it comes down to it, we are family. Family comes first and thankfully this bond will work towards our advantage as our career progresses.

Can you tell us more about your Summer tour for 2007?
Our summer tour is going to be the first time JAZMIN will be performing in cities outside of our LA area. We are very excited and hope to reach out to more people than we ever had before. We can't wait for our music to be heard!

What advice do you have for aspiring entertainers out there?
We know that you've heard it before but it's the truth: don't EVER give up. JAZMIN was just a dream and now from all of our hard work we are watching it slowly become a reality. Obstacles only help you get stronger and in the end, the ones who succeed are the ones who push through.  This is not just a testimony of our faith but of our teamwork and desire to break down all barriers in the music industry. A shout out to all our Asian-American brothers and sisters! We are in this together! Let's show the world what we're made of!
