Besides music what else are you passionate about?
I enjoy watching YouTube videos, thinking about life, and hanging out with friends.

What’s your process to song writing?
It's always different. Sometimes, I start with a track, sometimes a lyric, or sometimes melody. These days, I've been writing both melody and lyric at the same time. I guess it depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

If you had to write a song about yourself how would you title it?
Me.

What drew you into music?
I grew up surrounded by music all my life, but what drew me into songwriter was when I came across a classmate in history class who had "created" a song. I went home that day and worked on my first instrumental piece!

What did your parents say when you told them you wanted to be a song writer.
They kind of disregarded it. I proved to them by winning contests and such that this was what I wanted to do and I could be successful doing it.

What kind of music do you listen to while you’re in the car?
At the moment, I have a band called "Pheonix" in my car. They rock!

What’s one of your guilty pleasures?
Honestly, I usually don't feel guilty about the things I like to do. For example, if I decide to eat a gallon of ice cream because I wanted to, I wouldn't feel guilty about it (maybe sick though haha).

How long does it take you to write the perfect song?
There no such thing as a "perfect" song.

Are there many Asian Pacific American song writers?
I wouldn't say many, but there is definitely an emerging Asian American presence that I am discovering on YouTube everyday!

3 personal items you always take with you when you travel.
Cell phone, wallet, keys.

David ChoiWhat does being Korean American mean to you?
It means so many different things from day to day. Sometimes, it's great to be Korean American (it's my favorite food), but sometimes, it's a challenge. Although I'm grateful that I have a sense of belonging and a great culture in my blood, I think what matters most is the human spirit behind all that.

If you weren’t writing songs what would you be doing?
Probably being a loser playing computer games all day.

Politically do you lean to the right or the left?
Right down the middle.

Can you recommend a good brand of kim chee?
I don't know any brands!

Who inspired you to become a song writer?
The kid in high school (Q. 4).

Where do you see your song writing career taking you in five years?
Hopefully I'll be doing what I'm doing right now and maybe start a restaurant or something haha.

Who’s the one artist you would want to work with?
Tom Waits.

What are you currently working on? Are there any future projects you’re looking forward to getting your hands on?
I'm working on a number of songs for Starburst.com as well as writing songs to pitch to film/tv with various writers and producers. You can look forward to hearing one of my songs I co-wrote and co-produced "This is the Life" on upcoming group Flipsyde signed to Interscope Records! Hopefully they do well!!

What are the 3 most important things in your life?
I hate to say it, but myself because I haven't been taking care of myself lately, friends, family (including my dog Snoopy).

Thanks for taking time to do this interview do you have any words for your fans?
I'll keep going as long as you guys support me! I'm thankful for each person. :)
