Being an Asian American means different things to different people. There is no ONE STEREOTYPE that can truly express what or who an Asian American is. Below are our guidelines for what we will link to and what we won't. These should be considered guidelines, however, and all sites are reviewed and/or linked subject to our discretion.

AArisings definition of Asian American:
A person of Asian descent, or partial Asian descent, who lives in the United States or Canada OR who retains United States or Canadian citizenship.

Guidelines:

• All sites must be about an Asian American OR provide information that would be of interest to Asian America.
• Sites must be complete and officially launched (no "under constructions" in a majority of the site). Yahoo! Club or Group sites are not eligible as sites.
• For a band site, at least one member must fall into our definition of Asian American.
• For a fan site, an Asian American must be the subject of the site (ie: a fan site about Rick Yune or Ming-Na would qualify as an Asian American site)
• For a cybercouple's site, at least one person of the couple must fall into our definition of Asian American.
• If a site is commercial (ie: selling products or services), the products or services must be of interest to Asian Americans. These sites will be linked at the discretion of AArisings. For example, a site selling T-shirts which say "I'm Proud to Be an Asian American" would qualify.
• Commercial sites that are selling general products that is not geared towards a core Asian American audience will not be linked.
• Sites merely designed or owned by Asian Americans do not meet our linking criteria unless the content of the site has some interest to Asian America or is about an Asian American. If, for instance, you own a company that sells computers, it will not be considered an Asian American site, even if you are an Asian American.
• If a site meets our definition of an Asian American link but cannot fit into any of the defined categories, we will add it to the "Miscellaneous" category. At least once a year, we review the "Miscellaneous" links and try to create new categories if there are enough sites to fill a new category.
• Remember, AArisings is a resource for Asian Americans and NOT Asians born and currently living outside of North America.
• All sites are reviewed for inclusion based on these guidelines and are subject to the discretion of AArisings.
• From time-to-time, AArisings will check links for validity and existence. If a site no longer exists or no longer meets the above guidelines, the link will be removed from our site.
