Cooking from the Heart: The Hmong Kitchen in America is a unique cookbook which attempts to bring Hmong cuisine to us all. Authors Sami Scripter and Sheng Yang became unlikely friends who met 30 years ago. Scripter was a young mother and Yang a young Hmong teen. Despite a language barrier, they grew their friendship thanks largely to sharing their native foods and cooking together. What better way to learn about each others' cultures?
